The Den(ver) of the Secret Nine, Doctor Watson’s Neglected Patients
and the Jane Austen Society of North America

invite you to yell “Howzat!” at our Second Annual Cricket Match

at 10 a.m. Saturday Aug. 29
on the pitch at Cornerstone Park in Littleton

when the Coal Creek Cricket Club meets the Littleton Cricket Club. The game should be over by 1:30 p.m. and refreshments (water, hot and cold tea and lemonade) will be provided. You may bring food to share or you may selfishly keep it to yourself (greedy little pig), but please, no alcohol.

We will have cricketing veterans on hand to explain the rudiments of the game to newcomers. You may wish to come a little early to hear some Cricketing 101.

Please post comments below as to what you will bring, should you be willing to share.

Although there is no fee for this event, we’re considering renting a tent for the event, and may ask for a donation to help cover the costs. You must provide your own seating.

I will bring blueberry scones (and jam) and cucumber sandwiches (I’ve always wanted to make cucumber sandwiches).

I found both my thermoses. (thermosi?) I will bring hot water and ice cold water. Do you need plates, cups, plasticware or napkins?

Thanks, Darlene, if you could bring napkins, plates, etc., that would help. Seems like it’s mostly the women who have stepped forward on provisioning. Quelle surprise!
